Christmas Eve Worship Service with Bishop Julian
The service itself is one of Fr. Adam's favorite services we do at Christ Church. The order of service will generally follow what we are used to, but with a number of thematic enhancements. We will begin with a festal procession which will include a special Station at the Christmas Creche which the children will adorn with the figures of the Holy Family. Our normal course of Scripture readings will be replaced with a three-part reading of the Nativity story from Luke's Gospel with carol responses interspersed within. Finally, the service will conclude with a meditative rendition of Silent Night sung to candlelight followed by a reading of the "Last Gospel," a medieval tradition reading the story of the Eternal Christ's incarnation from the first verses of John's Gospel from the Altar. All throughout, the atmosphere will be enhanced with candles, the beautifully litup stained glass window, and loads of everyone's favorite Christmas Carols. Invite your friends and family and come, let us adore the newborn King.
