New Members Dinner
Attendance at the dinner does not commit you to become a member; it will be at the very least good food and fellowship and an opportunity to learn more about our common life at Christ Church.
Membership at Christ Church is a one-year commitment to be a disciple of Jesus Christ among us. As a congregation, we have agreed that membership requires a living faith in Jesus Christ expressed through a commitment of time, treasure, and talent to the ministry of Christ Church. Nothing will be required of you above and beyond what Jesus Christ asks of all his disciples. You will simply be committing to follow him with us at Christ Church specifically for the next year.
You will sign a covenant which commits you to the historic Christian faith "once for all delivered to the saints" and to a life of service to Jesus and his church. Covenants are between you and the Lord, and will not be in any way enforced by congregational leadership. After a year's time, you will have the option to renew your membership by signing another one-year covenant.
The formal benefits of membership at Christ Church are eligibility to serve in congregational leadership and to have voice and vote at the Annual Parish Meeting at which our Vestry is elected and our vision cast for the year to come. This year's Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 21.
